“The Falafel Burger”
Cooking is an asset to the modern gentleman. Whether you’re hosting for friends or want to make for a good date night, this is a skill to be practiced and mastered as a valuable tool in your arsenal. This week we explore an unknown for many burger lovers, the Falafel Burger. This burger is an interesting gourmet presentation perfect for any guest with a vegetarian diet.
Falafel Burger ingredients:
2 cans garbanzo beans(chickpeas, whatever)
1 bunch of parsley fine chopped
1 bunch cilantro finely chopped
2 pieces of garlic peeled and chopped
Juice of half a lemon
1 egg
1 tablespoon of flour, add more if needed
2 teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon garlic salt
Cooking instruction:
Combine ingredients by hand, food processor, or mortar and pestle until they are all one thick paste. Form into burgers appropriate in size to your buns. Bake on a cookie sheet that has been brushed with olive oil at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes flipping halfway through.
When finished top off the burgers with feta, pickled red onions(see other recipe), red leaf lettuce, yogurt sauce.
Garlic-cucumber yogurt sauce:
2 cloves garlic
1 cucumber diced
Juice from half a lemon
10oz of plain yogurt(Greek if you prefer)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon white pepper
Roast garlic cloves in olive oil. Combine the roasted garlic and the remaining oil from the pan with a fork. Add to a bowl with other ingredients and stir.
